Quality needles for your overlock
Our online shop has the best brand quality overlock needles for you to discover. We produce the ELX705 especially for our overlock W6 N 656D free arm, as this allows you to conjure up excellent results from your fabric.
In general: the finer the fabric, the thinner the needle. The overlock needle size 80 is ideally suited to light and medium fabrics. The fine tip keeps the pierce marks small, and your project will work a charm with neat seams. Use a size 90 needle for moderate to heavy fabric types. Both versions are also fitted with a special rounded tip. This prevents holes in the fabric, as the fabric fibres are pushed to the side, rather than pierced.
If you would like to use the ELX705 needles for a different overlock machine, remember to check whether the needles can be used by your machine before you place your order. We are also happy to advise you regarding compatibility. Please ensure that you only use these needles for the overlock machine. Domestic sewing machines only take other types of needle.
Sewing stretch fabric with the overlock
The special overlock needles don’t just achieve perfect results with natural fabrics. These needles are also perfect to use for stretch fabrics and jersey. The special rounded tip doesn’t damage the stretch material. You can place hems as normal and overlock the seams.
If you would like to use a needle specially designed for stretch material, you can also order the super stretch Hax1SP. This can sew almost all elastic and stretch fabrics, even with an overlock machine. Ensure you are using the right size of needle for the fabric thickness.
If your fabric tends to crimp, we recommend stabiliser or water-soluble stabiliser as additional support for a straight seam.
